Additional Information:
St. John of God School is a special school that provides education for pupils aged 4-18 years. Pupils have moderate, severe or profound general learning disabilities. Some pupils have additional complex needs that may include ASD and/ or behaviours that are challenging.
Essential Criteria:
- SNA or similar Fetac Level 5+ qualification.
- Experience of working across the range of special educational needs as
described.
- Experience of supporting pupils whose behaviour may challenge others.
- Respect for the ethos of the school.
- Strong work ethic
- Positive outlook
- Experience of and works well as part of a team.
- Experience and training in Lámh, Positive Behaviour Support, TEACCH; visual
communication systems; sensory profiling
Desirable Criteria:
Training in first aid, manual handling, administration of buccal midazolam.
