An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St. Francis Special School is a special school for pupils between 4 and 18 years old with Moderate or Severe to Profound Intellectual Disabilities.
Candidates are required to have minimum qualifications as per Department of Education and Skills Guidelines.
It would be desirable for candidates to have FETAC Level 5 in SEN or similar. Other desirable qualifications include: CPI, First Aid, diabetes awareness, emergency epilepsy medication training and patient / manual handling training. Please include in your application the dates that courses were completed.
It would also be desirable for candidates to have worked in a special school setting and have experience of working with pupils with Autism, EBD, ADHD and Multiple Disabilities and have worked with pupils who require intimate care (toilet training and changing nappies) and administration of medication. It would also be an advantage for candidates to have a strong work ethic, be open to further training and be able to demonstrate their skills in working as part of a team.
Successful candidates will be expected to uphold the Catholic Ethos of the school.
