An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Knockadea NS is seeking a team player who is willing to contribute to the overall development of the school and is cognisant that elements of the role will require working outside of the standard school day.
Knockadea NS is a Catholic school. The successful applicant must hold the appropriate Certificate to teach Catholic Religious Education and will be expected to demonstrate how they will contribute to the Catholic ethos of the school.
The initial post will be as SET, but this remains subject to change at the discretion of the principal. The successful candidate must be available for Croke Park on the 26th August 2025 ahead of the school reopening on Wednesday, 27th August 2025.
The following skills, knowledge and dispositions are highly desirable:
- A comprehensive knowledge and clear understanding of the application of the continuum of support in primary schools
- Evidence of familiarity and understanding of the diverse needs of pupils in schools (ASD, Down Syndrome, Speech & Language, literacy, numeracy, social emotional, EAL, etc.) and the application of best practices in teaching, learning and assessment
- Evidence of CPD related to the role and a commitment to completing CPD in line with the needs of the school
- A clearly demonstrated commitment to teamwork, the promotion of student voice, working in partnership with parents and the fostering of student wellbeing
- Expertise in the area of STEM & Digital Learning and/or Physical Education & School Sport along with clear examples of how you have applied your skills in primary schools or other areas
The Standard Application Form and copy of Certificate in Religious Education (Validated evidence of completion of certificate pending award will be sufficient e.g. signed letter from course provider, copy of transcripts) should be submitted by email to applications@knockadeans.com and must be received by 15:00 on the 23rd of July 2025.
Appointment and employment will be subject to continuing Teaching Council registration, current Garda Vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
