An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Board of Management of Shanbally National School invites applications from Candidates for the position of part time Special Needs Assistant in our school.
This is a 0.5 of an SNA post i.e.16 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Shanbally National School (P43 W990) is a mainstream primary school with a special language class.
Experience of working with children with ASD, Emotional / Behavioural needs, ADHD etc desirable.
For the school year 2025/26 the successful candidate is likely to be working with Senior Infants and Third Class mainstream but can also be allocated to any SNA role in the school at any time at the discretion of the School Principal. This includes both our Mainstream and Special Language Class.
We are looking for someone who is energetic, fun, enthusiastic, can contribute to our team, work on his / her own initiative and display a strong work ethic.
This appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, current vetting requirements, OHS requirements and completion of TUSLA online child safeguarding training, if not already completed.
