New Court Special School catering for students aged 5-18 with intellectual difficulties and additional complex needs.
The teacher will be required to teach students in a small classroom setting with high staffing to student ratio.
Knowledge and experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable. Experience and ability to manage behaviours of concern an advantage.
This is a Special class teacher position full weekly hours.
School opening times are 9:20am -3:00pm
We are looking for a teacher who is inclusive, flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and the school. The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic and can work on their own initiative whilst making a positive contribution to their school team.
The successful candidate must be willing to undertake in-school training which relates to the needs of pupils and the school.
Some of the complex needs with which students present include autism, multiple disabilities, communication needs and sensory processing difficulties. Prior experience of supporting students with these special needs is desirable.
Appointment is subject to satisfactory Garda vetting and occupational health screening.
