An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Scoil Mhuire N.S. is a co-educational primary school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Ossory. The staff comprises of an Administrative Principal, eleven class teachers, two ASD class teachers, four SEN teachers and seven SNAs.
Scoil Mhuire N.S. is classified as a DEIS rural school and there are two school buildings on Junior and Senior campuses. Scoil Mhuire is currently at Stage 2B of a building project to extend the school on both campuses.
The roles and responsibilities for the post are set out in the Four Domains of Leadership and Management, as specified in Circular 0044/2019.

Applicants should have a minimum of five years teaching experience in a recognised primary school in Ireland.
The successful candidate should demonstrate
- A clear understanding and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic primary school
- An in depth knowledge of the Primary School Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience
- An understanding and knowledge of special education needs and of inclusion and diversity in education
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with all staff members, Board of Management members, parents/guardians and the wider school community
-Experience in planning, prioritising and organising workload
- An excellent level of understanding and knowledge of school leadership , management and administration in a primary school
- Effective communication and people management skills which are required to lead and maintain a happy, active and progressive school community
- A clear and definite understanding of the Four Domains for Leadership and Management
- An understanding of DEIS and long term strategic planning for the development of the school.
