Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the Supply Teacher Panel.
Limerick Community Special School is a Special School that provides an appropriate education for students, aged 4 to 18 years old, who have a diagnosis of Autism and complex learning needs or Moderate General Learning Disabilities and complex learning needs. The new school will be located in Dromdarrig, Mungret Woods, Co. Limerick. Limerick Community Special School opened in September 2024.
Limerick Community Special School is funded by the Department of Education. The Patron of the school is Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board. Limerick Community Special School is a state school, multi-denominational and co-educational. Limerick Community Special School is underpinned by the ETB core values of Excellence in Education, Care, Respect, Equality and Community.
Limerick Community Special School has been designated by the Department of Education as the base school for a Primary Teacher Supply Cluster. The purpose of the Teacher Supply Panel is to provide substitution cover to a cluster of designated special schools in the area. These special school in this cluster all have a different designation of pupil needs in their school.
This panel will consist of 4 fixed term teaching posts commencing in January 2025 until the 31st August 2025. These 4 teachers will be appointed to Limerick Community Special School and work under the direction of the school principal.
The supply panel will operate in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in Circular 0059/2019. Please read circular prior to applying. Travel and Subsistence will be available as required.

Desirable Requirements
1. Significant experience with children who have a diagnosis of Autism or General Learning Disabilities or Physical Disabilities or Hearing Impairment or Emotional Behaviour Disorder or Medical Needs.
2. Experience working with pupils who present with behaviours of concern is beneficial.
3. A Post Graduate Diploma, in Special Education or Autism Studies, is desirable.
4. Completed Probation is desirable.
