Corlea National School is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Meath, Dr. Tom Deenihan. The school seeks to appoint an Administrative/Teaching Principal beginning on the 29th August 2024.
The present teaching staff comprises of 1 Administrative/Teaching Principal, 1 Class Teacher, the school is a base school for a (20 hour per week ) SET post, and base school for Principal Release Day cluster.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the strong inter-personal skills that are required to lead and maintain a happy, active, and progressive school community. A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential. Likewise fostering links with the wider community is desirable. The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate experience of multi grade teaching in primary school setting and have an in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience. The successful candidate should have experience in policy development and in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school based initiatives.

In addition to high academic expectations pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

Candidates should have current and continuing Teaching Council registration and show evidence of and commitment to ongoing Professional Development. Candidates should show a high level of understanding and knowledge of special education needs and of inclusion and diversity in education. Candidates should be able to display evidence of an understanding of DEIS and its implementation, the ability to foster the involvement of parents within the school community, as well as a commitment to inclusion and diversity.
