Applicants must be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland (Route 1 - Primary), be fully Garda vetted and have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a recognised primary school in Ireland.
The roles and responsibilities of the post of Principal Teacher are determined by the four domains of Leadership and Management as set out in chapter 4 of Circular 0044/2019.

In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
• An understanding and a commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and an ability to support and promote school/parish links.
• An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a range of teaching experience.
• Understanding and knowledge of Special Education Needs, inclusion and diversity in education.
• Excellent people management and communication skills and an ability to foster positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider community.
• Proven leadership skills and a commitment to school self evaluation
• A commitment to and evidence of relevant continuing professional development
The appointment is subject to the confirmation of qualifications, garda vetting requirements, occupational health screening and satisfactory references.
