An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

This advertisement is for two posts.
Post 1 - Standard SNA (Permanent) start date December 1st 2023.
Post 2 - Specific Purpose Contract - substitute SNA covering Carer’s Leave expected end date is Tuesday June 25th. Candidates should note that in line with Circular 33/2023 the end date for this position may “have to be terminated, in the event of the absent SNA returning to duties earlier than initially expected”.
Applicants should have practical experience working with children in an ASD class and in supporting complex care needs in the mainstream setting. The successful candidates will be expected to work in both settings.
Experience in supporting children with Epilepsy is highly desirable as is training in the administration of emergency medicine.
Candidates must demonstrate practical experience in managing challenging behaviour and the promotion of positive behaviour strategies. The successful candidates will be supporting pupils with complex care needs, toileting and eating, sensory needs, communication difficulties and varying degrees of learning disability.
A strong commitment to professional development is essential.
Applicants who are deemed to be members of the Supplementary Panel must furnish a certified copy of the completed Panel Form 1 with their application.
