An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Castlelyons National School Board of Management wishes to appoint a bus escort, commencing on Tuesday 29th August 2023, for two pupils initially with additional educational needs from the Blackpool and Tivoli area of Cork City. The position is for 15 hours per week, with collection in the morning to arrive at the school by 9.20am and return in the afternoon, leaving the school at c.2 pm, (school finishing time for Infant classes - first 2 years), and at 3 pm thereafter.
Candidates need to be professional in their manner when dealing with school staff and parents and should have good communication skills. They will be responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the vehicle. They will also be required to assist the pupils getting in and out of the vehicle, securing seat belts etc. Experience of working with pupils with additional needs may be advantageous.
Appointment will be subject to Garda Vetting and reference checks. Salary scale and conditions of service will be in accordance with the regulations set out for bus escorts by the Department of Education.
