POST DETAILS
Additional Information:
St. Kevin’s Boys’ School, Kilnamanagh is a well-established and well-resourced school, which sits at the heart of a supportive community. Its campus is shared with St. Kevin’s Girls’ School, Abacas Special School, Kilnamanagh Family Resource Centre, and several community pre-schools. The school has a Catholic ethos and operates under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin.
The current pupil population is 328 students - there are 13 mainstream classrooms and 2 well-established special classes for autistic students, equipped with two sensory rooms and outdoor activity space. Our pupils are actively engaged in their learning, inclusive of others and have a warmth towards their peers and staff. There is a strong sense of cohesion amongst the school community. Student voice is important to us, and our student council is a valuable asset.
Our school has a professional and highly motivated staff, which includes: 22 teachers, 13 Special Needs Assistants, a secretary, a full-time caretaker and 3 part-time cleaning personnel. The atmosphere of the school is open and welcoming. There is a strong focus on teaching and learning, for staff and children alike. Our staff aim to ensure that our pupils work to the best of their potential and that they feel supported and valued. St. Kevin’s is a positive, nurturing, and relationship centred school.
The school building is well maintained, complete with a modern I.C.T infrastructure. The building itself has been updated in recent years; it is in very good condition and is set on a large open site.
The roles and responsibilities for the post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in the Department of Education Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.
• Leading Teaching and Learning
• Managing the Organisation
• Leading School Development
• Developing Leadership Capacity.
Candidates should have current and continuing Teaching Council registration. The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
Invitations to interview, for selected candidates, are expected to issue by email on June 8th. The provisional date on which interviews will be held is Saturday 17th June.
