Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Cara Junior School is a special school for pupils aged 4-12 years who have a dual diagnosis of ASD and an Intellectual Disability between the Mild to Moderate range.
There are currently 13 teachers and 37 Special Needs Assistants on the staff.
Criteria for this position are as follows:
Relevant QQI/FETAC qualifications and experience in working with children with Autism, Intellectual Disability and Challenging Behaviour are essential.
Experience of working in a special school or special class setting would be essential . Additional childcare and/or other relevant qualifications/courses (e.g. First Aid, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies, MAPA, PECS, Lámh Module1, etc) would be highly desirable.
Applicants who are deemed to be members of the SNA Supplementary Panel with supplementary panel rights, must furnish a certified copy of a completed Panel Form PF1 with their application.
