An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

We are advertising for one Special Needs Assistant to join our school team next year.
1 full time SNA post.
Gowran N.S. is a co-educational, Catholic primary school with one autism class. Our school currently has an excellent team of 2 Special Needs Assistants working in Mainstream classrooms.
We are opening the first of two special classes for children with autism in September.
Requirements:
Relevant qualifications and experience of working in an autism class is advantageous.
We are looking for someone who can be flexible and responsive to the needs of the school and children, someone who is kind, enthusiastic, energetic, can contribute to our team and work on his/ her own initiative.
Candidates must be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children and the school and must be available to complete Croke Park Hours throughout the school year.
The successful candidate will be expected to respect student and teacher confidentiality at all times, as well as uphold the Catholic Ethos of the school.
The appointment will be subject to but not limited to Garda Vetting, Occupational Health Screening, and completion of TUSLA online Child Safeguarding training. This position is subject to NCSE allocation and SENO review. The successful applicant may be required to work in both a mainstream setting and in our Autism class as directed by the Principal.
