Applications are invited for the position of Principal of Scoil Assaim BNS, Raheny, Dublin 5 D05 AW29.
Scoil Assaim is a senior boys’ school (2nd to 6th class) with an emphasis on sport, music and the arts. The staff comprises: the Principal, 13 class teachers, 5 SETs, and 4 SNAs. This vibrant and inclusive school has a Catholic ethos and is under the patronage of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Dublin. The successful candidate must have a recognised qualification to teach Religious Education.
Roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management, as specified in DES Circular 0044/2019:
1. Leading teaching and learning.
2. Managing the Organisation.
3. Leading school Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
The following skills, knowledge and experience are desirable:
• Proven leadership skills, including policy development and implementation.
• Strong organisational capabilities.
• Evidence of continuing professional development in a leadership role.
• Ability to promote a culture of caring, learning and creativity in the school.
• Excellent communication skills, expressed both in leadership and teamwork.
• Knowledge of Special Education Needs and a commitment to inclusion.
Candidates called to interview will be required to provide proof of qualifications and Teaching Council registration.
Interviews will be held in early June.
