Guidance Counsellor

We are currently looking to hire a Guidance Counsellor in the Institute of Education.

Details of the role are as follows:

• Provide one to one guidance counselling across all three strands of Guidance: Personal & Social, Education and Career guidance
• Assist with Guidance events: webinars, lunchtime talks, careers fair, stand up awareness week etc.
• Administer interest/aptitude tests, interpret results and give feedback.
• Assist with CAO and UCAS applications and hold talks on these topics.
• Inform and assist with college applications to mainland Europe and to the USA.
• Write references for UCAS and USA college applications.
• Ensure appropriate and consistent quality and compliance of Guidance service is met.

Key requirements:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required for the role
• Exceptional interpersonal skills essential
• Well organised and capable of working under pressure, meeting deadlines and managing own time effectively
• Good level of IT competency required
• Strong attention to detail essential
