An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Sonas Special Junior Primary School is a school for children aged 3-6 years old with a diagnosis of ASD. Experience of working in a special school or class for young children with complex needs in which ASD specific methodologies were implemented would be relevant.
These positions are Infant Day Posts equivalent to 0.83 of a fulltime post or 26.5 hours per week.

Successful candidates will work as members of a busy class team working under the direction of the Class Teacher. Duties will include tending to the personal care needs of the pupils, using IT to prepare learning resources, assisting pupils communication using Hanen, Lámh, PECS etc and being involved in the formulation and implementation of Behavioural Plans where necessary. Experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour would be relevant.
