Additional Information:
The Board of Management of Scoil Chóca Naofa in Kilcock invites applications for post of Deputy Principal. The school is a co-educational primary school with a Catholic ethos under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Kildare & Leighlin Bishop, Denis Nulty.

There are 15 mainstream classes,1 ASD class, 7 SET positions, 9 SNAs, Principal and Deputy Principal.

In addition to the discharge of specific curricular, pastoral, administrative and management duties, the Deputy Principal also exercises a leadership and motivational role within the school. The role and responsibilities of this post are subject to review and change according to procedures set out in Circular 0044/2019. The responsibilities of the role will require participation in the leadership role outside of the standard school day and outside the standard school year.

The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019.

3. Leading School Development

4. Developing Leadership Capacity


The following skills, knowledge, experience and competencies are desirable:-

* A knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic Ethos of the school.

* An excellent knowledge and understanding of Leadership, Management and Administration in Primary Schools.

* Proficient communication and negotiation skills and a proven capacity in successfully leading and managing school teams

* Evidence of and a high level of commitment to ongoing Professional Development

* A commitment to shared leadership and a willingness to delegate, develop leadership capacity and empower others.

* A high level of understanding and knowledge in the area of SEN, and of inclusion and diversity in education.

Appointment will be subject, but not limited to: satisfactory references; current & continuing Teaching Council registration; current vetting requirements and occupational health screening.

A minimum of 3 eligible applications are required for this competition to proceed.The post shall commence on Wednesday, 6th January 2021.
