An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The BOM of Scoil Ghobnatan, Mallow, invites applications for the permanent post of Deputy Principal. The proposed starting date for this position is 26th October 2020.

The Deputy Principal will operate in partnership with the Principal to ensure the effective leadership and management of the school. The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management as outlined in Circular 44/2019. The main duties of this role will fall within the four domains
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity

The following skills, knowledge and experience are desirable:
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- The ability to promote a culture of learning and creativity in the school.
- Excellent communication skills, expressed in both leadership and team work
- Experience in managing SEN
- Organisational capabilities in managing school development, events and resources

It is proposed that interviews will take place during the week of the 19th October, 2020.
