An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Leighlinbridge NS is a vertical mainstream school. We will be opening 2 x special classes for children with ASD in September 2019. Initial assignment will be for the ASD classes but this may be subject to change

3 x Infant Hours(.83) posts being advertised.

Applicants should have qualifications as per Department of Education and Skills. Fetac Level 5 desirable but not essential. Applicants should have experience of working with children with Autism and working with children with physical, sensory, learning, behavioural and complex difficulties. Please outline in detail your experience of caring for pupils with ASD.

List of duties may include; assisting with intimate care needs, toileting, positive behaviour support, enabling pupils to access therapies etc. Experience in the use of PECS, LAMH and TEACCH are desirable.

All school staff are expected to engage in relevant CPD, have a strong work ethic and respect for the school ethos. Candidates are required to be positive, flexible and work well in a team environment.

Applicants deemed to be members of the supplementary panel must furnish a certified copy of completed PF1 Form with their application.

Appointment will be subject to current Garda Vetting requirements, Occupational Health screening and completion of the on-line TUSLA Child Safeguarding training.
