Title:
After School Club and Camp Instructors - Various Positions around Ireland
Description:
The STEAM Foundation is looking for energetic, engaging, and enthusiastic instructors for our STEAM Camps, After School Clubs and Events.

Our main aim as a company to ensure we create a fun, interactive and supportive environment where all our attendees feel they can be themselves, that they are fully relaxed, feel included and appreciated for their input and that they are having a lot of fun and laughter. To be able to create this environment we are looking for passionate, fun, capable and organised individuals who really enjoy working with kids, are creative, well educated, have a can-do positive, energetic attitude and who can come up with a solution if something is not working the way it should.

As a Member of the STEAM Team, you will be responsible for teaching 5- 16yr olds Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths in a very hands-on environment. Encouraging exploration, self-directed learning and management for all our attendees.

We aim to do this in an engaging, positive and respectful atmosphere where everyone’s input us valued and diversity, equity and inclusion are celebrated. After all there is no wrong answer in Science – Just a different result!
We have a number of different products that we offer:

After School Clubs
These occur in the afternoon after school has finished normally in a school or a hall. They run for 55 mins long. During this time, we introduce a topic discuss it. The instructor will complete a demonstration on the topic and then the students will complete an experiment/number of experiments themselves. Topics are normally covered over a 3 -4-week period. There is a max of 24 in any group with 2 x instructors. Terms normally run for 6 x week period. Hours of work are normally. As this is a club and not School, we have a very supportive, fun and interactive environment.

The core hours are 13.30 – 16.00hrs 5 x afternoons a week. An instructor will work for 2.5hrs per day this includes running clubs, and 30 mins clean up at the end. It is up to the instructor to choose how many hours a week they wish to work which will fit around their timetable.

Camps:
These occur during the academic holidays. They are run in schools, halls etc. They normally run in the morning times and give us the opportunity to investigate and explore topics in much more depth. We are given the chance to move around different topics during the camp – We may for instance start with exploring Hydroponics – once we have completed our preparation of our experiment we will then move to another topic and not return to this until the end of the week. We like to run our camps with a very fun, supportive, and collegiate atmosphere – Everyone is included and equally important. During the week we will move age groups around – sometimes having all the same age group together for a specific topic/experiment. Other times mixing up the age groups into different teams. We aim to complete 3 - 4 topics per day along with at least 3 x breaks – As these are camps and attendees are on holidays we like to ensure a very relaxed, fun, interactive and supportive atmosphere.

Parties/Events/Workshops
These are usually 1 x off events and take place during the morning and at weekends. There is generally an atmosphere of celebration, fun and enjoyment at these events. They are more fast paced than the clubs or camps and you are preforming to the crowd for the events and parties – They are generally between 45 – 90mins long and take place in Halls, Offices, Libraries, Schools, Public Amenities, private homes etc.

Workshops are normally between 1 – 3hrs depending on the topic and can take place in schools, libraries, public spaces, companies etc. There is a generally a max of 30 x people attending, and it will be around 1 x subject.
