An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Scoil Choilm Community National School is a multi-denominational primary school which welcomes pupils of all faiths and beliefs. The school and staff are committed to a high standard of education where the children are at the centre of the educational process. Our school has 15 SNAs who are an integral part of the school community and our staff. Scoil Choilm hosts 2 special needs units. Inclusion, equality and respect for all is an essential part of our school ethos.

Applications are welcomed for the above positions. A strong understanding of and empathy for children with special needs is essential for these roles along with a strong work ethic and flexibility in working as part of a large staff.

Applicants must be willing to and capable of working in a special needs unit for pupils with a diagnosis of autism.
