Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Michael's House Special National School Skerries is a school for pupils/students with a Moderate General Learning Disability and multiple disabilities including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and hearing and visual impairments.
From late August there will be an administrative Principal, an administrative Deputy Principal, 5 teachers (2 primary, 3 senior) and 19 SNAs in the school. The school caters for children from 5 to 18 years of age.
Essential Criteria:
Applicants should be fully qualified as an SNA with Level 5 and/or Level 6. Additional qualifications are welcome.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience working in a special education setting/special class
Experience / training in augmentative and alternative forms of communication (PECS, Lamh)
Experience working with behaviours of concerns
Experience devising IEPs as a class team
Knowledge of Child Protection
Experience working with a class team (teacher/SNAs)
These 3 fixed-term jobs are to fulfil Career Break (2) and a position (1) from two job shares within the school.
Applicants are asked to ensure they fulfill all essential criteria and have included all required documentation with application.
Incomplete applications will not be considered under any circumstances.
Short-listing may apply.

In addition we would like to set up a substitute panel to create a sub list for future available work.
