Additional Information:
Stewarts School caters for students with moderate, severe and profound general learning disabilities and complex SEN between the ages of four and eighteen years. Candidates are required to have the Junior Certificate or equivalent. An additional qualification in special education, including autism or a related area is advantageous. The following training/competencies are also required: Up to date CPI and Manual Handling certificates, Water Safety/Swimming certificate, Dysphagia, PECS and Lámh Module1 and ICT training. Knowledge and experience of positive behaviour support strategies is essential.
Duties include working with students of all ages throughout the school, feeding, toileting, dressing, assisting students in the swimming pool and supporting students with challenging behaviours.
Please include a 'Special Needs Assistants Supplementary Assignment Form' where applicable.
2 written references from persons who can be contacted during July are essential. The successful candidate from the interview process will be required to be successful subsequently in applications to National Vetting Bureau and Medmark before any formal appointment will be made.
