About Our School:
Paradise Place ETNS is a diverse, aspirational DEIS Band 1 school in the heart of Dublin city, and we are looking for passionate, innovative teachers to join our team. In 2024, we made an exciting transition from Catholic to Educate Together patronage, and this is a great time to become part of our community as we grow and develop our ethos together.
We are proud to be a DCU Changemaker School and a Yellow Flag School, and we are the winners of the European Language Label — awards that reflect our ambition, our values, and our commitment to inclusion and diversity. We are a school that seeks to be ahead of the curve, and we are looking for teachers who want to be part of that.
Our Children & Community:
Almost all of our children speak English as an additional language, and we are proud of the rich linguistic diversity this brings to our school. We actively promote children's home languages and encourage all teachers to create meaningful opportunities for language use across the curriculum.
We also support a significant number of children with additional learning needs, including many neurodivergent children. We believe that understanding and supporting children's regulation needs is central to good teaching — a well-regulated child is a ready-to-learn child. We are open, curious and non-judgmental in our approach, and we invest in creating classrooms where every child feels safe, seen and supported. Flexibility, empathy and a genuine commitment to personalised learning are essential qualities in our teachers.
Our Ethos: Relationships First
We are a restorative school, and positive relationships are the foundation of everything we do — in the classroom, in the corridors, and in the staffroom. We work with Michelle Stowe and Connect RP and have been developing and deepening our restorative practice over many years. This is not a tick-box approach — it is genuinely woven into who we are. We are looking for teachers who understand that strong, trusting relationships are the most powerful tool in any classroom.
Our Approach to Teaching & Learning
We are a creative, ambitious and forward-thinking school. We use evidence-informed approaches across all areas of the curriculum and we are always looking for better ways to do things. We want teachers who are not content to stand still — who are curious about their practice, open to new ideas, and eager to learn from research, from professional development, and from the colleagues around them. At Paradise Place, you will both contribute to and benefit from a culture of shared learning, where good practice is celebrated and everyone — from the newest NQT to the most experienced teacher — has something to teach and something to learn.
What We Offer You
- A warm, welcoming team and a genuinely supportive working environment
- Full support through the Droichead process for newly qualified teachers
- Real opportunities to develop your leadership skills at every career stage — we actively encourage teachers to lead in areas they are passionate about
- A school that is genuinely innovative — with a track record of national and European recognition
- The chance to be part of an exciting period of growth and change in our school community
Who We Are Looking For:
We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers. We are looking for someone who:
- Is energetic, enthusiastic, and brings fresh ideas to their teaching
- Has a genuine understanding of regulation and emotional wellbeing as foundations for learning, and is open to deepening that understanding
- Is committed to inclusive, neurodiversity-affirming practice
- Builds strong, positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Is curious and reflective — someone who actively seeks to learn, grow and share with others
- Takes initiative and approaches challenges with creativity and resilience
Available Roles:
We have a number of fixed-term posts available, with initial duties in either mainstream or support teaching. All applicants must be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland.
How to Apply:
Please send an application form and cover letter by email. In your cover letter, please tell us specifically why you are drawn to Paradise Place ETNS and what you would bring to our community. You can find out much more about us — our children, our curriculum, our awards and our community — at ppetns.ie, and we encourage you to explore the site before applying. We are an equal opportunities employer and warmly welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds. We look forward to hearing from you.
