An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

We are looking for a primary teacher to cover leave due to commence on 5 January 2023 and expected to continue until at least 31 March 2022.

The initial duties of this position are those of a Special Class Peripatetic Teacher providing education in a tertiary hospital school for primary pupils who are hospitalised with acute or chronic medical needs. Pupils are a mix of those enrolled in both mainstream and special education settings.

Hospital teachers deliver education in various hospital settings, including 1:1 sessions at the bedside and small multi-level groups in a classroom setting. Hospital teachers must be adaptable and flexible to provide for a diverse and transitory population of students. Planned lessons often need to be differentiated in the moment to meet our students' changing emotional and educational needs.
