St. Mary's is a small, vibrant rural school in West Waterford between the towns of Dungarvan and Clonmel. It is a catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Waterford and Lismore. The current enrolement is 63 mainstream pupils. There are three mainstream class teachers and an SET. This is currently a teaching Principal position. The sucessful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to continue to lead and strengthen the Catholic ethos of the school. The successful candidate must have a recognised qualification to teach Religious Education. Any offer of appointment will only be made where it is considered that a suitable candidate for the post exists.
In addition, the following skills, knowledge and experience are desirable:
Previous teaching across classes in a multi-grade school.
Evidence of continuing professional development especially in a leadership role.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
Experience in policy development.
Experience in prioritising, planning and organising workload.
Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school-based activities.
Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and a commitment to inclusion and respect of diversity.
The position will commence on November 2nd 2020 or as soon as the successful candidate is available and relevant sanction, paperwork and documentation are completed and received.
