St Josephs Special School caters for pupils with a moderate general learning disability. Approximately 50% of our pupils have ASD.
This is a vacancy for maternity leave due to end April 2020.
There are 13 teachers currently working at St Josephs School alongside 26 SNAs and other support staff.
Experience working with pupils with special needs, ASD, physical, sensory and complex difficulties in a special school, class or ASD unit setting is essential.
Experience in the following is desirable: planning and implementing programs linked with personal hygiene, toileting, FEDS, hoisting, behaviours that challenge, physiotherapy, speech and language, OT, aquatics.
Experience with the Junior Cycle Curriculum is desirable.
Experience in the use of IT (Ipads, computers, websites, interactive whiteboards) and LAMH sign language.
