An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St Josephs Special School caters for pupils with a moderate general learning disability. Approximately 50% of our pupils have ASD. There are 26 SNAs currently working at St Josephs School alongside 13 teachers and other support staff.
Experience working with pupils with special needs, ASD, physical, sensory and complex difficulties in a special school, class or ASD unit setting is essential.
Experience in the following is desirable: assistance with personal hygiene, toileting, FEDS, hoisting, behaviours that challenge, physiotherapy, speech and language, OT, aquatic programs. Experience in the use of IT (Ipads, computers, websites, interactive whiteboards) and LAMH sign language.
