An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. John of God School is a special school that provides education for pupils aged 4-18 years. Pupils have moderate, severe or profound general learning disabilities. Some pupils have additional complex needs that may include ASD and/ or behaviours that are challenging.
Essential Criteria:
Strong work ethic.
Respect for the ethos of the school.
Works well as part of a team.
SNA or similar Fetac Level 5+ qualification.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience of working across the range of special educational needs as described.
Additional training (Lámh, positive behaviour support)
Knowledge of TEACCH, Picture exchange communication.
Awareness of sensory profiling.
Where applicable please furnish a certified copy of completed Special Needs Assistant Form (PF1)
