An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Joseph's Special School has 13 classes currently, made up of three Primary classes for students with MGLD, six Post Primary classes for students with MGLD and four classes specifically for students with Autism and a range a GLD. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of each students and we offer access to the primary curriculum, Junior Cycle and LCA.
We are looking for three permanent Special Class Teachers with initial duties in a special class for children with a dual diagnosis of ASD and general learning disability. While not essential, experience and qualifications in special education and ASD as well as the use of PECS, LAMH and the the TEACCH approach are desirable.
