Additional Information:
This is a fixed term, part-time post to cover a Job Share position. It is a special education teaching post initially but maybe subject to change. Applicants for this post must have a certificate to teach RE and be fully probated. Understanding and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic school is also essential.
In addition, the following skills, experience and qualifications are desirable:
• Evidence of continuing and relevant professional development.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team and evidence of working collaboratively with other teachers and support staff.
• Evidential experience of working well with parents/guardians and developing positive working relationships.
• Demonstrable ability to plan and organise.
• Previous successful teaching experience.
• Evidence of ability to develop and maintain good professional relationships and contribute positively to curriculum development.
• Demonstrable ability to make appropriate judgements over sensitive or confidential issues.
• Experience in a similar school setting.
The following are advantageous:
Knowledge of ICT in particular assistive technology, experience of guided reading, team teaching, station teaching, knowledge of the new SEN model and of working in small group settings. Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and knowledge of assessment and planning in a special education setting. A willingness to promote and participate in the life and extra-curricular activities of the school particularly sports/Active Schools as well as a commitment and understanding of rural communities.
