An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Enable Ireland Sandymount School wish to recruit a Special Class Teacher for a Fixed Term fulltime position for one year. Initial duties for the post will be in a special class for children with a dual diagnosis of Physical Disability and Severe to Moderate general learning disability. Some students have an additional diagnosis of Epilepsy hearing or visual impairment and use Augmented Communication Devices. Many of our pupils have multiple disabilities.
It is essential that applicants demonstrate the specific competencies and requirements to work in special education. The use of PECS, LAMH, AAC device and the TEACCH approach are desirable. All school staff are expected to engage in relevant CPD, have a strong work ethic and respect the ethos of the school.
Candidates are required to be positive, flexible and work well in a team environment. Successful candidate must be willing to assisting pupils in the swimming pool.

Registration with the teaching council is essential. Successful candidate must undergo Garda Vetting before commencement of the post.
