Title:
Lecturer in Education (School Placement) Post-primary
Description:
This role will oversee all School Experience and Professional Practice (SEPP) related activity on the programme, from introductions to SEPP during orientation, through to the teaching of all SEPP activities and the management of the SEPP assessment process.
Workload will include the teaching of webinars on weekday evenings and will also involve Conference Days which will be held in various venues on Saturdays throughout the year.
Essential requirements for the role
• A qualified post primary school teacher
• Master’s in Education (or near completion of one)
• Excellent project management and organisational skills.
Desirable requirements for the role
• Doctorate (or working towards one) with at least 5+ years in a similar role
• Knowledge and experience of education systems, both nationally and internationally
• Experience of curriculum development, both nationally and internationally
• Have an active research profile
• Experience of supporting GSTs while on School Experience and of assessing GSTs while on School Experience
• Experience in working in the delivery of blended learning programmes
• Experience of assessment processes
• Actively engaged in relevant research activities
• Experience of the post primary education sector in Ireland
• Experience of working with student teachers
• Experience of policy formulation
