St. Ultan’s Primary School is a mainstream school with has three classes which provide individual education programmes for children with autism who are aged between the ages of 5 and 12 years. Applicants must demonstrate the specific competencies and requirements to meet the special educational needs of children with autism in a special class, e.g. appropriate management of challenging behaviour, an understanding of the need for routine and structure, knowledge of how to support children with communication difficulties, e.g. Lámh/ PECS/ TEACCH

These posts could be allocated to mainstream or ASD specific classes, depending on where the need arises. The advertisement is for 2 short days (8.40-1.40) and 1 full day (8.40-2.40)
