POST DETAILS

Title:
Primary School Teacher
Description:
International School Michel Lucius seeks a qualified Teacher of Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 to contribute to our dynamic and rapidly growing primary school from September 2018 onwards.

The School
International School Michel Lucius is a state-funded primary and secondary school, located in the heart of Luxembourg’s capital. Lycée Michel Lucius has been providing a high quality education to secondary-school aged students for fifty years. In response to Luxembourg’s fast evolving, highly cosmopolitan and international population, Lycée Michel Lucius created an English language international stream in 2011 which has since grown into a diverse and high quality International School that serves approximately 700 students at primary and secondary level, representing more than 70 nationalities. The new International school is an integral part of Lycée Michel Lucius, an inclusive and flourishing learning and teaching community of 1500 students and more than 150 members of teaching staff.
In September 2017, ISML Primary, an accredited Cambridge International school, opened its doors to a highly diverse and rapidly growing pupil population.

The Role
We are looking for a well-qualified practitioner with experience of international curricula. The successful candidate will be expected to create a nurturing learning environment, allowing pupils to achieve academic excellence in line with the Cambridge International Primary curriculum. The ability to inspire learners and to guide them to become inquisitive and successful scholars is essential.
Teachers at International School Michel Lucius have excellent knowledge of pedagogy and actively contribute to an inclusive learning and teaching model by differentiating their lessons to suit the diverse needs of the learners in their classes. Staff are expected to work collaboratively, to reflect upon their own practice and to contribute to the ethos and vision of the school. In addition to key teaching responsibilities, staff have a pastoral role, giving them the opportunity to foster students’ holistic development and to play an integral part in the school community.

As a dynamic and innovative school we pride ourselves on acting in the interest of our students and supporting our teachers in the pursuit of their professional goals.
All teaching within the international school is undertaken in English. However, the successful candidate must have certified evidence of CEFR B2-level competence in one of Luxembourg’s administrative languages (i.e., French, German or Luxembourgish). Evidence of a B2 level must be provided when signing the contract. In addition, all applicants must have a valid teaching qualification from a member state of the EU or the EEA and have 5 years of teaching experience.

What we offer
The International School Michel Lucius offers motivated teachers a supportive and innovative teaching environment, allowing them to follow their passion for education. The school actively encourages and supports teachers’ continued professional development initiatives.

Teachers have a balanced timetable, providing them with ample time for preparation and administrative duties alongside teaching their allocated lessons.

As government employees, teachers benefit from a generous salary, including health, pension, unemployment and disability insurance.

How to apply
All applicants should send a CV, a covering letter, and the names and contact details of two professional referees to recruitment@lml.lu.

All applicants must have a valid teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) and be able to provide certified evidence of a CEFR B2 level in one of the administrative languages (i.e., French, German or Luxembourgish)
