An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The Board of Management of School of the Holy Spirit, seeks applications from suitably qualified SNAs for the above position. Salary and conditions as per the Department of Education & Skills.
School of the Holy Spirit is a special vertical co-educational school for students with Autism and/or Emotional Behavioural Difficulties. Enrolment is 84 students aged between 4-18 years. There are 15 Teachers and 31 SNAs on staff. 7 classes are at primary level and 7 classes are at secondary level.
Significant experience of working in a Special School with students with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and students with severe challenging behaviours is essential. Previous experience in an Autism Specific School will be a distinct advantage.
Qualifications in the following areas are highly desirable due to the specialised nature of the work in this school:
• Fetac Level 5 Childcare or equivalent qualification, or above
The understanding of Multi-Sensory Integration Programmes would be a distinct advantage.
Suitable applicants may also be invited to join a substitute panel of SNAs in the school.
