An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St Killian’s Special School is a Primary Special School for pupils who have a range of educational disabilities (SLD, DCD, SSLD, ASD).
There are currently 12 teachers and 13 Special Needs Assistants on the staff.
Following an increase of 2 SNA positions from NCSE Allocation.
Criteria for Application
Experience of working in a special school/special class setting and/or other relevant qualifications/courses would be desirable.
Relevant QQI/FETAC qualifications and experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs including SLD/DCD/SSLD/ASD Autism and Challenging Behaviour along with relevant qualifications/experience in using (MAPA/CPI/Team Teach or similar) and an understanding of positive behaviour support strategies are essential.
A willingness to work with pupils in ASD Special Classes ASD/Behaviours which Challenge is essential.
SNA SUPPLEMENTARY PANEL
Applicants who are deemed to be members of the SNA Supplementary Panel with supplementary panel rights, must furnish a certified copy of a completed Panel Form PF1 with their application.
